Welcome November.

Here we are working on the webpage and updates to the map, and guess what, we are already listening to Christmas music thanks to SXM.

Is it too soon?  Not in our opinion, we need to build up our holiday cheer early, so we can keep going on this until the new year for all of our followers.

Let’s hope we can get some good sponsorships to cover some of the now higher costs of doing all this, and for the time we put into all of this which is 40-50 hours a week during the winter holiday season and for Christmas.

We don’t want this to be a profit source, just some help to pay the bills that come with the travel, web-hosting, and just our time in general that we work for free.  If we ever got to the point of making more than we put in, we would be donating the excess to good cause, or local charity.  We would also consider banking a small amount for upgrades to what we do, to update or have new features.  The idea of a mobile app has even come up, but development and support of such is expensive.  We’ve been approached about being part of someone else’s app, but it didn’t work the way we would have liked, and we would lose some of our creative options.  We would really like to keep this “local” to just the PNW region, and our extended areas.

Thank you for taking the time to read our blog.  I do hope it provides you some insight into us.

Merry Christmas

Well , here we are on the 2nd biggest holiday we highlight and map.

It’s been a crazy build up to this, and lots of display visits done, though, as always, we wish we could have done more.

We passed out thank you cards as we could, some displays it just wasn’t feasible or we couldn’t find a safe place to put it.

We hope everyone has enjoyed the displays we’ve highlighted, as we wanted to make sure most of what we did was different than in years past.  Some displays get visited more often than others, so we try to mix it up.

Tomorrow starts full steam ahead on the Christmas map efforts, and possibly a small map for anyone that does a veteran’s day display.

Thank you for everyone that has joined us in the Halloween efforts, we appreciate our display owners, and all of our followers

Happy Haunting everyone!

We are in the time of year where we start to seek sponsors to help us keep this project free to the community, as web hosting, and time put into all the work that goes into keeping all this accurate and up to date takes significant amount of work.

Halloween this year we’ve been averaging 30+hours a week (on top of working normal full time and part time jobs).  So we are taking our efforts very seriously, as we want to ensure our product is quality in nature, and as accurate as we can make it.

Christmas we average 40-50 hours a week, on top of normal work.  So our free time is rather occupied by doing ALL of this for the community, on our time, and our dime.  We are far from wanting to start making a profit from what we are doing, but covering some, if not all of the costs incurred would be beneficially to both our mental and financial health.

So if you own/run a local business (or a BIG business) and want to discuss sponsorship we would be open to hearing from you.  Email us at sponsor@pnwcl.com

In years past we have had real estate agents as sponsor (we limit the number of these, as to not overlap areas), as well as a local bank, and a salon.

We look forward to hearing from you.

We have worked really hard this year, the map has exceed all of expectations, with partner maps, it doubled in size from last year.

We are getting 2-4,000 hits on the map DAILY.   Website is getting at least 200-300 new hits daily, Facebook even more.  Follows on page is getting ever closer to 20000.

All that sounds GREAT on paper.

We spent 2 full days of work on a media blitz to dozens of media outlets, we heard back from 1, then they ghosted us, even when we followed up.

Outside a brief mention on a local radio station (A person I consider a friend is a DJ there), we have gotten ZERO major media coverage, and zero inquiries on doing any.  This is super frustrating, but Christmas will likely be another story in regards to that.  Doesn’t make us feel any better.  We know our hard work is being enjoyed, by followers, but even some media coverage would have been nice as we’ve seen numerous displays getting coverage this year (more than we have seen in years past).

If you have contacts in the media that can help us gain coverage, we would be greatly appreciative.  As we were hoping to use some of this years coverage to help get sponsors for the Christmas map, and hopefully, going forward.  We cannot financially continue to provide all of what we do from our personal budgets.  We do so much to ensure we have content and resources for our community, sometimes it just takes a toll.

If you are able to, please donate to our efforts, even if it’s just $1/month on Patreon, if just HALF our followers did that, all costs for this project would be fully funded, and allow us to take it even further to another level with a fully custom map, and even more.

Happy Haunting everyone.

Even though we are in the heat of the Halloween season, we are always looking forward to the next holiday, and how to plan for it.  Christmas holiday is next, and many displays will be up and running by or around Black Friday, and significantly more December 1.

We are already building the map for it as we speak.  We are looking for sponsors for this year, as we have yet to sign any sponsors yet for this year.  Having Sponsors allow us to continue this project, and help fund more features, and keep what we do FREE for the community.

If you are interested in being a sponsor, please let us know, as we will see what we can work on together.  We would love to help support local business, and use our platform to help advertise for your business, as you help support our project)

All the time we put into this project, and the time we take bringing content to our audience does incur costs (from our personal budget) and we put 30-40 hours a week of our own time into everything we do for this, on top of working full-time jobs.

We hope you consider either donating or sponsoring our efforts.

All The Best
